Anukruti Sharma: An IPS officer Restored the Light in the Life and Home of 70yo Lady Noor Jahan|

At Khedi, a small village in Uttar Pradesh, a young IPS officer Anukriti Sharma and her colleague Jitendra Saxena from Agota Police Station organized a program to inform the villagers about the benefits of various government schemes. They also asked if anyone had any issues or grievances. Among the crowd, a 70yo poor Muslim woman Noor Jahan was watching the program with curiosity and wonder. She, who spent her whole life in pain and tingling, finally dared to say something even though she was afraid. She was living in a hut with crumbling walls and no electricity. She was amazed to see a young woman in khaki uniform as the “Officer” and gathered the courage to speak up.Her complaint was simple: “Beta (nickname for daughter), I don’t have electricity at home. Nothing else, but I feel very hot.”

The Prompt Action of IPS Officer:

Anukriti Sharma was stunned by her plight and decided to help her. So she got the electricity connection service approval on a priority basis and personally visited Noor Jahan’s house with her staff and a videography team. She switched on the bulb and gifted a pedestal fan to Noor Jahan at her own expense. The woman’s face shone up with joy and gratitude. Anukriti Sharma also distributed sweets to all and Noor Jahaan.
