The banking system was not paperless till a few decades ago. If the customer wanted to withdraw money from his account, he had to personally visit the bank and get the amount by wasting his precious time in the rush. With the advent of digital technology, the banking system has also undergone many reforms. Now there is no need to go to the bank for transactions. The use of ATM cards for receiving money has become common.The card bears the logo of Master, Visa or Rupay. Master and Visa cards are the most popular ATM (debit) cards in the country. Cardholders can withdraw money from any bank's ATM centers across India, and abroad if they have a Platinum card.



How does the ATM Card system work?

When a customer withdraws money from an ATM, the software links the card to the bank. After completing the process, the currency comes out of the machine. However, the cards are not directly linked with the bank. Payment Gateway Company acts as a medium for controlling transactions and other operations. For that the payment gateway company charges from the bank.Master and Visa are foreign gateway companies. They charge the transaction through ATM.He gets a huge amount of our country in the form of commission.In order to prevent such a huge amount going out of the country, the bank urges customers to take RuPay cards instead of Master and Visa.

Why the Rupay Card?

  • Rupay is the payment gateway of our country. So if people use this card then the currency does not go out of the country.
  • Last but not least, when the bank issues the RuPay card, the cardholder gets an insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh against any mishap, provided the card is activated within one year. In case of accidental death of the cardholder, the nominee gets the amount.
If we prefer to use the Rupay Card, we can prevent billions of Indian currency from drifting out of the country.
